Quantum Hall Effects

Integer and fractionnal quantum Hall effects oberved in magneto-transport measurements.

- Using inelastic light (or Raman) scattering we are probing the low energy collective excitations of 2D electron gas under high magnetic field and at very low temperature (T<100mK). Our group is collaborating with Columbia University and Alcatel-Lucent (USA) on this topic which requires the highest mobility GaAs samples and an unique very low temperature optical facility.

- Skyrmion ordering

We are currently focusing on the physics of topological objects called skyrmions and on the possibility of observing a Skyrme crystal.


Spatial distribution of the spin orientations in a spin-charge texture known as skyrmions.
